What a Great Word: Hospitality

Deer Flat Church   -

This week, we’re continuing our sermon series, “What a Great Word!” and diving deep into the concept of hospitality. In a world that often feels fast-paced and isolating, hospitality offers a refreshing counterpoint. It’s about opening your heart and home to others, creating a space where people feel welcomed and loved.

What does hospitality look like in practice? It’s more than just inviting someone over for dinner. It’s about creating a welcoming atmosphere, listening attentively, and offering genuine care. It’s about seeing others as guests in your home, not just visitors.

You will hear personal stories and stories from the Bible that will remind us what it is to be hospitable. Specifically, we will talk about:

1) Why was hospitality such an important practice in the NT?
2) What did hospitality mean to Jesus?
3) How do we practice biblically hospitality, today?

Join us this Sunday as we explore the biblical meaning of hospitality and how we can embody this important virtue in our own lives. Let’s discover together what it means to be a hospitable community!
